LETTERS FROM GOD - Unknown

Letter From God to Women
=========================

When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being.

When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils.

But you, woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your nostrils are too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you.

Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with the creativity.

From one bone, I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man's life.

I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do. Around this one bone, I shaped you. I modeled you, created you perfectly and beautifully.

Your characteristics are as the rib, strong yet delicate and fragile.

You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life. The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart.

Support man as the rib cage supports the body.

You were not taken from his feet, to be under him; nor were you taken from his head, to be above him.

You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side.

You are my perfect angel. You are my beautiful little girl.
You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and my eyes fill when I see the virtues in your heart.

Your eyes... don't change them.

Your lips, how lovely when they part in prayer.
Your nose, so perfect in form.
Your hands, so gentle to touch.
I've caressed your face in your deepest sleep.
I've held your heart close to mine.
Of all that lives and breathes, you are most like me.

Adam walked with me in the cool of the day, yet he was lonely.

He could not see me or touch me. He could only feel me.
So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with me,
I fashioned in you; my holiness, my strength, my purity,
my love, my protection and support.

You are special because you are an extension of me.
Man represents my image, woman my emotions.

Together, you represent the totality of God.

So men......treat women well.
Love her, respect her, for she is fragile.

NEWS - THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS ISSUES A STATEMENT REGARDING "THE BOOK OF MORMON MUSICAL' ON BROADWAY

Church Statement Regarding The Book of Mormon Musical

In response to news media requests, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued the following statement regarding the upcoming Broadway musical entitled The Book of Mormon:

The production may attempt to entertain audiences for an evening, but the Book of Mormon as a volume of scripture will change people's lives forever by bringing them closer to Christ.

To better understand the context of how the Church responds to situations like this, journalists and others may also want to read a popular article on Newsroom posted in March 2009 called “The Publicity Dilemma.”

i am a non conventional Mormon. seriously, i am. i LOVE LOVE LOVE my faith, but i am also very much me. and i can look at my religion from anothers point of view as...well, odd, weird, unusual, and different.
i have always been fascinated by the way others percieve us. as NON christians, when personally, i DONT see how they can come to THAT conclusion, when my entire belief system has been based on the SAME Jesus as every one elses, and the MAIN subject matter ever discussed IN the church happens to be Christ.
sure, i know who Joseph SMith is, and the role he played in the church, but can i tell you details? nope. and i am raised LDS!
im not even sure how many wives he had. seriously. that kind of stuff isnt really any matter to me, i cant chage what happened, or how it happened, or even WHY it happened, but i can, in some way TRY to be a good representative of my religion, by showing that what i am taught, which for the most part is to be: CHRIST-LIKE...is what i am taught.

so, im on the fence with this play. id really like to see it, just too see what jabbs are made about my faith, and how far off left field they go with what thy think they know..but i also know that shows i condone anything that misrepresents us as a faith.

theres no way, id be able to see this on broadway anyway, i dont have the means to get there, not the cash flow to provide me a way to view it, besides theres allot more id want to do in NY if i could make it there (id make it anywhere..lol)
perhaps ill wait for the DVD.  :)

HUMOR - BIBLE CONFUSION

The little girl was sitting with her grandmother, who had presented her with her first little children's Bible, in an easy-to-read translation, when she was very young.

Now, a decade or so later, the old lady was ready to spend a few sweet moments handing down the big old Family Bible, in the time-honored King James Version, to her only grandchild.

Understandably excited, the youngster was asking a number of questions, both about the family members whose births and deaths were recorded therein, and about various aspects of the Scriptures themselves.

Her grandmother was endeavoring to answer all the child's questions in terms she could understand; but the one that stopped her cold was this sincere inquiry: "Which Virgin was the mother of Jesus? Was it the Virgin Mary, or the King James Virgin?"

Virtue consists, not in abstaining from vice, but in not desiring it.

NEWS - POLITICS HEIGHTEN INTEREST IN THE LDS (MORMON) CHURCH

Politics Heightens Interest in the Church

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormon) issued the following statement on Feb. 1:
Just moments after Jon M. Huntsman Jr. resigned his post as U.S. Ambassador to China yesterday, the Public Affairs office of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City began receiving calls from prominent news organizations speculating about another possible presidential bid by a Mormon and asking for insights about both Ambassador Huntsman and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

Clearly, it’s time to restate what we said back in 2007 and 2008: The Church is strictly neutral in matters of party politics and will not comment at all on the personalities and platforms of candidates, whether or not they are members of the Church and irrespective of their party affiliation.

The political neutrality policy affirms that “the Church’s mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, not to elect politicians. The Church’s neutrality in matters of party politics applies in all of the many nations in which it is established.” The full document encourages members to be responsible citizens, to be actively involved in civic matters in their respective communities and nations, and to vote for whomever they wish.

We have experienced many times the intense inquiry and attention that comes when a member, or members, of the faith are the focus of public attention. Such attention is in some ways simply a result of Church growth. With more than six million members in the United States, many of our members are now in public life. We welcome and encourage questions about our faith, but we will respect the bright line between talking about the Church and talking about candidates for public office.
